Wu Linghao（b.1997, Fuzhou, Fujian), he obtained his BFA (2020) from the Department of Oil Painting at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. Wu currently resides in Shanghai. His works focus on the condition of the individual within the currents era, weaving personal experience together with grand narrative. Taking East Asia’s “compressed modernity” as a starting point, the individual and the family, the physical body and the city, the everyday life and the ghosts of history all serve as sources of inspiration for his practice. By connecting memory with imagination, ritual becomes a means of reconnecting the individual. The past, the present, and the future are set in tension and weaved together within his work.
