Chen Yingzhou (b. 1995, Shenzhen, Guangdong) received his BFA from the Third Studio of the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2019, and his MFA from the Maryland Academy of Arts in 2021. Chen is dedicated to exploring the intersection between the visual logic of Internet image-making and the painterly sensibility of traditional easel painting. Drawing on early Internet aesthetics and tactics such as memes, trolling, mash-up and kitchen sink, he seeks to dissolve grand narratives surrounding political ideologies,
topical issues, philosophy and religion. His practices often take the form of satirical, pop-like paintings that mimic the digital textures of computer graphics through meticulous handcraft, integrating the visual languages of comics and illustration. Chen’s works are held in the collections of Guangdong Contemporary Art Center, X Museum, START Museum and other institutions.
His solo exhibitions include: “Fang”, Keyi Galler y, (Beijing, 2024); “Cerebral Asphyxia”, Keyi Gallery,(Hefei,
